MOUNTAIN CONNECT DAY TWO (MONDAY) RECAP
Day Highlighted by FCC’s Ryan Palmer
Keystone, Colorado – Today a record number of attendees and sponsors gathered for the sixth annual Mountain Connect Conference, with highlights available online at on Mountain Connect’s Twitter Feed. Sessions including “Financing Options for Municipal Networks,” “Google Fiber’s Lessons Learned,” “Goals for Our Next Administration,” “The State of Broadband: Agency Perspectives” and the morning Keynote were all live streamed across the country. The FCC’s Ryan Palmer, Chief of the Telecommunications Access Policy Division, was the keynote in a session that kicked off the conference with updates on the FCC’s broadband activities as well as available funding programs.
“The conference was eye-opening and refreshing as it featured hundreds of people from communities proactively looking to close the digital divide,” said Palmer. “Mountain Connect is very unique and impressive as so many tech savvy, smart people came together as they look to solve their individual broadband challenges.”
Additionally today, Mountain Connect’s Jeff Gavlinski presented Phil Weiser, Dean at University of Colorado School of Law with a check for $5,000 to benefit the Dale Hatfield Scholars and Research Program. The money was raised in the conferences first annual golf outing on Sunday.
Tuesday, June 7 is the third and final of day of Mountain Connect.
