Wes Kelley is the President and CEO of Huntsville Utilities. HU provides service to more than 195,000 electric, 100,000 water, and 56,000 natural gas customers in Huntsville and Madison County, Alabama. HU has also constructed a city-wide fiber-optic infrastructure used by Google and others to provide high-speed telecommunication services to the community.
Prior to coming to Huntsville in 2017, Wes led Columbia Power & Water Systems and Pulaski Electric System, both in middle Tennessee. Wes is chairman of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association and has served on the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Regional Energy Resource Council and the Customer Planning Council. In his community, Wes is a commissioner with the U.S. Space and Rocket Center (the home of Space Camp) and is Chairman of the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence. Before moving to the Tennessee Valley in 2005, he worked with the Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities in Michigan, and served as the city’s economic development director. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political economy from Hillsdale College.
