Melanie Colletti

Colorado Department of Labor and Employment: Digital Equity Manager

Melanie is a dedicated advocate for digital equity with a strong background in public libraries. With over seventeen years of experience, she has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals lacking reliable internet access, devices, and digital literacy skills. These interactions inspired Melanie to extend her efforts beyond libraries, collaborating with State prisons, halfway houses, and other community-based organizations.

In September 2022, Melanie joined the Office of the Future of Work as a Digital Equity Manager. In this role, she leverages her deep understanding of digital inclusion, resilience, and literacy to bridge the digital divide. Melanie’s expertise stems from her direct engagement with library patrons seeking assistance in creating email accounts, applying for jobs, and connecting with loved ones online.

Melanie holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Denver. Born and raised in Colorado, she has resided in cities ranging from Cripple Creek to Denver, gaining a broad perspective on the diverse needs of communities in her home state.
