David Lady
City of Salida: Director of Public Works
David grew up in the rural Midwest and completed his engineering degree at the University of Kansas. He has over 20 years of experience and is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado. Time has been spent working as a consultant engineer as well as a department supervisor in public works. During that time, he has led planning, design, and construction management efforts on a wide range of multi-discipline infrastructure projects. This has included the construction of reservoirs, water and sewer plant projects, new and reconstructed streets, bridge and other types of hydraulic structures, as well as a variety of other types of building construction projects. He has provided operational leadership of water, wastewater, streets, stormwater, and fleet divisions. This has included development of policies, advancement of ArcGIS programs and asset management software, as well as financial management duties. In his free time, he enjoys all kinds of outdoor recreation with his wife and kids. They like to bike, hike ski, camp, fish, float the river and many other activities that the mountains have to offer.
