Broadband Development Conference

Brian Greenlee

Volt Broadband, Network Engineer/Administrator

Brian Greenlee is a Louisiana-based network engineer and administrator, U.S. Navy veteran, former Department of Defense contractor, and cofounder of Parity Labs. He currently works with Volt Broadband in Rayville, Louisiana, supporting rural broadband operations with hands-on experience in fiber access networks, network administration, optical transport, broadband infrastructure, and Adtran access and customer equipment.

During his service in the U.S. Navy, Brian worked in radio communications and information systems, including networking, servers, and operational communications support. His background also includes Department of Defense contracting experience and work with Motorola radio equipment in support of Louisiana public safety communications.

Brian is in his final semester of his master’s degree program at Southern Methodist University’s Lyle School of Engineering, where he has maintained a 3.93 GPA while studying network engineering.Through Parity Labs, he develops technical simulations and training tools designed to help operators better understand complex infrastructure systems.

Brian is also interested in helping electric cooperatives identify infrastructure opportunities, including 20 to 40 MW data center projects that could create new load, support local economic development, and strengthen cooperative participation in emerging AI and compute infrastructure.

Pluggable Optic Innovation Improves Access Architectures

Learn how you can extend remote OLTs deeper into the network while at the same time saving money on optical transport. Taking advantage of new pluggable coherent optics can change the rural fiber broadband network architecture, saving capital costs of both the active optical transport and outside plant material. Hear directly from a service provider as well as the innovator of this technology.
