Abbie O'Dell

Charter Communications, Sr. Director, Learning Services

Abbie joined Charter Communications in 2002 as a Technical Support Representative and quickly advanced to Trainer, supporting the Vancouver, Washington call center. In 2008, she was promoted to Training Supervisor, overseeing training for Stores, Direct Sales, Dispatch, and Technical Operations. During this time, she also launched the Virtual Training Team, focused on delivering engaging, interactive virtual learning experiences.

In 2016, Abbie became Training Manager for Charter’s Northwest Region, and in 2019 she transitioned to Senior Director of Learning Services, where she leads the development and delivery of learning experiences for Charter Field Operations. She holds a B.A. in English Literature, a master’s degree in education, and is a graduate of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.

Abbie is an active member of The WICT Network and currently serves as Past President and Advisor for the Pacific Northwest Chapter. She also served as co-chair of the 2022 WICT Global Future Leader Board.

She is active in the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), where she was recognized as a Senior Member in 2026 and received the 2023 Chapter Leader of the Year award for her service as President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter. She currently serves as co-chair of the SCTE Educational Advisory Council, chair of the Curriculum Advisory Board for Arapahoe Community College in partnership with NCTI, and a member of the Syndeo Institute Advisory Council.

Drawing on proven approaches such as employer-led pathways, apprenticeships, and work-based learning, the discussion will explore what successful programs tend to share: clear links to strong employer engagement and measurable outcomes for both workers and businesses.
