MOUNTAIN CONNECT DONATES $5,000 TO DALE HATFIELD SCHOLARS & RESEARCH PROGRAM
First Annual Golf Outing at Mountain Connect Conference Raises Funds For University of Colorado Scholarship Program
Keystone, Colorado – Today Mountain Connect’s Jeff Gavlinski presented Phil Weiser, Dean at University of Colorado School of Law with a check for $5,000 to benefit the Dale Hatfield Scholars and Research Program. The program is designed to encourage University of Colorado student interest in public service by providing grants for summer internships in government or public interest positions. The Hatfield Program has become a flagship program at the University of Colorado and has already helped to bring several students to Washington, D.C. to take positions in government and non-profit organizations since it was established in 2006.
“We’re fortunate to be the custodians of the West’s and Colorado’s premiere broadband conference,” explained Jeff Gavlinski. “We take our responsibility towards fostering and growing the industry seriously. Hopefully this first Dale Hatfield Golf Outing is merely step one in a long relationship between Mountain Connect and this worthwhile program.”
Phil Weiser explained that today’s donation will completely fund sending one student to Washington, DC this summer to intern with the FCC.
Mountain Connect kicked off Sunday and runs through Tuesday in Keystone, CO. Follow us online at www.twitter.com/mountainconnect for live broadcasts of sessions.
