Curtis Dean is the co-founder and Vice President of the Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN), a membership organization and 501(c)4 non-profit that advocates for community-based broadband providers and promotes digital inclusion work. CBAN currently has 130 members in 19 states.

Curtis is also president of SmartSource Consulting, which provides support for community-focused broadband providers from planning through implementation. Curtis has been involved in community broadband since the late 1990s.
