David Theodore founded Microwave Bypass in the late 1980’s, to develop the first
wireless broadband solution (fixed wireless access) for the emerging internet. That
solution, the Etherwave LAN Radio, delivered full speed 10 Mbps access to world
renowned institutions from MIT and Harvard to UC Berkeley, NASA and The Smithsonian.
It put millions on the internet in the decade before Wi-Fi and pioneered a host of
applications from distance learning to tele-radiology.
Today, David is co-founder and CTO of Climate Resilient Internet (“CRi”). CRi is
raising awareness to the vulnerability of internet infrastructure to the extremes of climate
change and collaborating with WISPA to advance a new certification to protect society’s
most mission critical internet and cloud access.
