Colorado Broadband Office: Executive Director

Appointed in February 2021, Anthony (Antonio) Sean Martinez is the second-ever Executive Director to lead the Colorado Broadband Office. He is responsible for driving the state’s broadband strategy in close collaboration with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Department of Local Affairs, Department of Regulatory Agencies and other state agencies. Antonio also continues to grow the strong public and private sector relationships in communities to support broadband expansion throughout Colorado.

He joined the state after serving 32 years in a myriad of federal leadership positions under six government administrations. He has served as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Dept. of Treasury Advisor to the Chief Operations Officer, U.S. Dept. of Energy Deputy Director, and most recently a Director at the U.S. Dept. of State. As a Colorado Ranch owner, Antonio is passionate about how political issues on a local, state, and national level impact the lives of Coloradans. He plans to leverage his federal government experience to enhance Colorado’s agriculture, energy, natural resources, infrastructure and economy through the expansion of broadband across the state.
