Fiber and Fixed Wireless have different and offsetting advantages and disadvantages. Fiber has capacity and scalability advantages but suffers from dependencies on ROW, long timelines for deployment and higher economic costs. Fixed wireless is less expensive, bypasses ROW issues and can be deployed quickly but has difficulty scaling to gigabit speed levels and has a shorter asset lifetime. Which tool is right for the job? The answer depends on the needs of the community, available resources and timeline for deployment.
