Building Better Broadband Maps: A Guide for Communities

May 25 – 9:30 am to 10:15 am

As communities across the US tackle the digital divide, the current state of broadband mapping presents a problem – developing plans and securing funding depends on reliable data. With the lack of a proven solution at the federal level, states and localities are stepping up to collect the data that they need to apply for grants, challenge federal data, and understand the infrastructure in their community. The Broadband Mapping Toolkit is a resource that will help navigate the complexities of undertaking a broadband mapping and data collection effort. This session will be a focused discussion on local mapping efforts, guided by the audience and informed by the Toolkit.
